FOS by Fenia Labropoulou

I've found some amazing pictures by the FOS and I noticed that maybe the photos were inspired by America's Sweetheart - Lana del Rey, I mean the flower wreath, the 70's makeup and puffed hair which are Lana's characteristics. What about the clothes? I noticed the bright colours with a 80's glam-rock feeling vs. the vintage 50's statements.
Finally watch and listen Lana's hit 'Video Games'.

Fashion Star - 2nd Ep. - Who's your customer?

Another week, another Fashion Star :) The task for this week was to design clothes for real customers. As Nicole Richie said, the feedback from the buyers is necesarry in order the final product to be perfect and to know what the people want from a designer. (Just to notice, Nicole looked amazing, I loved her dress and her outfit in this episode) As is usual, the designers had to create three different types of their garment, on which the real buyers had to bid on, and at the end of the show make available for the people out there to purchase.
Well, this week was full of surprises. My favourite designer, Orly Shani, didn't succed to get an order, her garment was a similar one to the previous week's, it was a covertible maxi dress, maybe it was the same idea for an other round, but I think it was very creative and innovative.

Plaid tie dress

As past week Kara Laricks wasn't my favourite, now she managed to win the bid of the represantative of the Saks with the draped tie dress (unfortunately I haven't found more pics :( :

The surprise of the night was Sarah Parrott, who in the last minute changed her mind and it was a great idea, because her 'Tuxedo pants' won in front of the judges. She was surprized too. Although, those pants wasn't my favourite...

The other winner of the night was Lisa Vian Hunter, whose classic shaped dresses won. I think these garment are to simple to succed on the market, but there are people who want dresses like these. Okay, I admit, simple but pretty. I would wear them too!

The only menswear of the night was , who inspired from the Western world and put his inspiration into some amazing men shirts.

And if there are winners, there is always someone who goes home. This week Oscar was this person. From the bottom three: Lizzie, Ross and Oscar, Ross was saved by the mentors, Lizzie by the buyers and Oscar was sent home.
To be honest, I didn't like Oscar designs...some party, coctail dresses, which can found almost at every store, wherever you want to buy a dress and you need it now. I agreed with the mentor John Varvatos, when he said that the designed dresses by Oscar were 'hootcy' and not fashionable and sophisticated.

After such a week at the Fashion Star, I cannot wait to see more surprises and challenges!

Fashion Star - 1st episode

I was kindly inactive in this period, waiting for inspiration to come...and I got it! Past week I just couldn't wait to finally watch the fresh and new all-about-fashion, reality show 'Fashion Star'. I must to admit that I love everything is fashion and if is on TV, like the 'Project Runway' is much much better.
So, I challenged myself, and I decided that I will review the episodes.
Indeed the mentors are interesting, I couldn't wait to see mentoring my favorite Nicole Richie, singer turned in designer Jessica Simpson and designer John Varvatos. Actually they are really working very well together, and I thought that Jessica Simpson will be much more glitzy, but I was pleasently surprised after all.
I like the fact that, this show allows the contestants to create menswear too, because logically not everything is for women, and I agree with that.
My one negative point was the music, it was too much...the less is more.
I don't want to forget that the whole concept is very innovative, and as I was watching the show, I was wondering, why it wasn't found earlier?I think is very fresh and practical that the manufactured garment to being presented not only for judges to decide whether their products are wearable or not, but they must know if their designs are good for sell, if there is demand for their product. That's why I found interesting that the representants of the Macy's, the H&M and the Saks Fifth Avenue tell their opinion and decide to make an offer or not. This the show where fashion - art and business meet, and that's why I love that every garment for which is given an offer will be being sell and can be purchased by these businesses.
What is a review without images?

I really like the creative idea of the first black, mini skirt, at which is added a zipper, so it could be worn as mini or in a more unique way as it is shown in the picture. This skirt is made by the bartender Orly Shandi.
I didn't like that mini, white dress, a black line on the waist, although is pretty.
Although I see more in Sarah Parrot, the designer who made that bright blue dres
In conclusion these are the winner garments of the previous week, and I couldn't wait for seeing more in the future!
